  36.   Well, I would like to talk this one to death. I have seen multiple 
  37. messages about people having problems with the AVI savers and I am 
  38. starting to wonder why I don't have any problems with inconsistent 
  39. performance. However, that doesn't mean I don't have a lot of questions 
  40. about what I am doing.
  41.   Yep, I am using the NewTek-AVI saver (NT-AVI) constantly since I got my 
  42. LW 4.0 Intel Rev. C. I have been making 640x480 .AVI's, a few short 30 
  43. frame ones with my own projects, and some of the 200+ frame ones from the 
  44. examples that come with the program. No problems.
  45.   I am trying to understand the various compression options and their 
  46. impact on the final animation.  Some of the compression options result in 
  47. slightly poorer quality animations but since I am in the fiddling stage, 
  48. I haven't directly associated this to a particular compression format or 
  49. the percent of compression I am selecting.
  50.   One thing I am starting to wonder is if the NT-AVI saver that comes on 
  51. the Rev.C CD maybe slightly improved over the one that comes with the 
  52. Rev.C patch?  Don't know. Just know that I am not having any real 
  53. problems with the NT-AVI saver. BTW, I usually just view them from My 
  54. Computer, just have files with .AVI extensions associated to Mediaplayer. 
  55. Coming from an AMiga background, I have been pleasantly surprised that I 
  56. am getting full-frame 640x480xTrue-color animations that run in what 
  57. appears to be real-time 30fps, which PeeCee's were never supposed to be 
  58. capable of. But PeeCee's have come a long way.
